The Experience, Service by Service

What to Expect

Whatever you book, the approach is the same: I help you prepare beforehand, I shoot a variety of looks during your session, and I direct you throughout — so you never have to guess.

Mini Sessions — $175

  • Short and simple: A shorter experience than a full portrait session, on select dates and times I release, at a predetermined location. Availability is confirmed before booking.
  • Directed throughout: I guide you through the session so it moves quickly and comfortably.
  • Your result: A professionally edited, curated gallery, delivered online.

Portrait Sessions — $375

family · maternity · birthday · individual

  • Before: Pre-session communication, with location guidance and basic wardrobe guidance.
  • During: Natural-light, on-location photography with professional posing and direction — and a mix of close-up, mid-length, and wide shots, so you get several different looks from one session.
  • Your result: A professionally edited, curated digital gallery, delivered online.

Senior / Graduation Sessions — $425

  • Variety: I shoot a mix of close-up, mid-length, and wide shots, so you get several different looks from one session.
  • Wardrobe: I'll help you plan outfits beforehand — clean and confident works best, so leave the cargo shorts and flip-flops at home.
  • Direction: I direct everything — stance, expression, all of it — so you can relax and be yourself. Outfit changes when practical; cap-and-gown photographs when requested.
  • Your result: A professionally edited, curated gallery.

Couples Sessions — $425

  • Before: Planning and location guidance before your session.
  • During: A mix of posed and candid photographs, in close-up, mid-length, and wide shots — I direct you with prompts throughout, so nothing feels stiff or guessed.
  • Your result: A professionally edited, curated gallery.

Engagement Sessions — $500

  • Before: Session planning and location guidance before your session.
  • During: Posing and prompts, candid moments, and a variety of looks — with ring and detail photographs when appropriate.
  • Your result: A professionally edited, curated gallery.

Surprise Proposal Photography — $650

  • Before: Proposal planning assistance, with location and timing coordination and positioning advice. Your plans are kept confidential.
  • During: I arrive before the proposal and photograph discreetly — the moment, the reactions, and ring/detail photographs.
  • After: Couple portraits afterward, and a professionally edited gallery.

Proposal + Engagement Experience — $850

  • Before: Planning for both parts — the proposal and the fuller engagement session that follows it.
  • During: Discreet proposal coverage first, then an engagement session with posing, prompts, candid moments, and ring/detail photographs when appropriate.
  • Your result: Professionally edited galleries of the proposal and the engagement experience.

Branding Photography — starting at $500

  • Before: A brand consultation to plan your headshots, looks, and locations. Multiple looks when practical.
  • During: Headshots and lifestyle branding photographs, plus workspace, detail, and product or service photographs where appropriate — directed throughout.
  • Your result: Professionally edited commercial-use images, as approved. Larger projects — multiple locations or employees, large campaigns, extensive product work, ongoing content, extended licensing, or high volume — are quoted custom.

Event Photography — $300/hour

2-hour minimum · $600 minimum

  • Before: Tell me the key moments and key people, so nothing important is missed.
  • During: Event candids, important moments, and details — wide shots of the room, close-ups of the moments, and group photographs when appropriate.
  • Your result: A professionally edited digital gallery. Large or complex events are quoted custom.

Courthouse & Small Ceremony — starting at $1,000

  • Before: Coverage and inclusions depend on your ceremony — send me the details and I'll confirm everything before booking, before quoting anything beyond the starting investment.
  • During: Natural-light coverage of your ceremony, in a mix of wide shots and close-up details.
  • Your result: Professionally selected and edited finished images, according to your confirmed coverage.

Elopement Photography — starting at $1,500

  • Before: A planning consultation to go over your ceremony, portraits, and details.
  • During: Ceremony coverage, couple portraits, and immediate family/group photographs when appropriate — in a variety of looks, wide and close.
  • Your result: A professionally edited gallery. More complex or extended elopements are quoted custom.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book?

Send me a message with the type of session and your preferred date; I'll confirm availability before booking.

Where do sessions take place?

Natural-light, on-location in Hagerstown and Washington County, Maryland; location access, admission, or venue requirements may need to be confirmed. Permits must be paid by the host.

Who pays for a location permit?

Permits must be paid by the host.

Do you travel?

Yes — travel is included for sessions in the Hagerstown and Washington County area. For locations farther out, a travel charge may apply — I'll confirm any travel details with you before booking, so there are never surprises. Send me your location and your date and I'll confirm availability.

What happens if the weather is bad?

I photograph outdoors in natural light, so I watch the forecast closely before every session. Overcast skies and light drizzle usually aren't a problem — soft, cloudy light is actually beautiful for portraits. If weather would make your session unsafe or keep me from delivering the quality you booked — heavy rain, lightning, high winds, snow or ice, or severe weather warnings — we'll reschedule your session to a new date at no extra charge. For date-fixed occasions like ceremonies and booked events, I'll work with you and the venue on covered or indoor options so your day is still photographed. And when conditions are dangerous, I make the final call — no photograph is worth anyone's safety.

When will I get my photos?

I'll provide the current estimated gallery delivery time when your session is booked.

Do you deliver RAW or unedited files?

My delivered work is professionally selected and edited finished images, according to your session terms.

What should I expect at a senior session?

Three things make a senior session great. Variety: I shoot a mix of close-up, mid-length, and wide shots, so you get several different looks from one session. Wardrobe: I'll help you plan outfits beforehand — clean and confident works best, so leave the cargo shorts and flip-flops at home. And you don't need to know how to pose: I direct everything — stance, expression, all of it — so you can relax and be yourself. Senior / Graduation sessions are $425.

Do you photograph weddings?

Yes. Send me your date and venue through the contact form — I'll confirm availability and build your quote personally.

How can I pay?

I accept Venmo, Cash App, an invoice payable by debit or credit card, or cash in person. See the How to Pay section.

Do you require a retainer?

Yes — every booking is held with a retainer, and it goes toward your total price (it's not an extra fee). I'll confirm the exact retainer for your session with you directly when you book, so you get the right details for your date.

Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes. After your retainer, I can split the remaining balance into monthly payments on your invoice, so you can spread the cost out instead of paying it all at once. Ask me when you book and I'll set it up with you — we'll confirm the schedule together before you sign.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens. The reschedule and cancellation terms for your booking are spelled out in plain sight in your contract before you sign, and I'll go over them with you when you book so there are no surprises. Weather works differently and more gently — see the weather answer above.

What should we wear?

Wear this: Coordinate, don't match — outfits in the same color family photograph better than identical outfits, and color coordination is a big deal in your final photos. Solid colors and gentle textures, clothes that fit well and let you move, sit, and hug comfortably. Layers and simple accessories photograph beautifully. And follow the wardrobe guidance I send before your session — it exists because it works (for seniors especially: steering away from cargo shorts and flip-flops makes a real difference). Skip this: Large logos and lettering, neon colors, and very busy patterns — they pull focus in every photo, and bright colors can cast onto your skin. Brand-new shoes that hurt by minute ten. Anything you'll spend the whole session tugging at. One thing I ask before every shoot: Lay the outfits out, snap a photo, and send it to me before session day. It's not just about the clothes — seeing your colors helps me figure out the right location for you, a place where your outfits and the background work together instead of fighting. Helping you choose is part of what I do.

Why do I sign a contract?

It protects both of us. The contract locks in your date so no one else can book it, spells out exactly what your session includes so there are no surprises, and puts the practical details in writing — your retainer, the weather plan, and how your photos are delivered. The model-release part covers how your photographs may be used, including your privacy choices — nothing is ever posted without the permission you've given. It's simple, it's standard with professional photographers, and it means we both start your session knowing exactly what to expect.

Do I need to sign anything?

Yes — every client signs a contract/model release before the shoot.

Are you insured?

I'm insured, and I can provide a certificate of insurance (COI) on request — helpful for venues and event organizers.

Do I own the copyright to my photos?

You receive full personal printing rights — print your photos wherever you like, as large as you like, and share them with family and friends. Like most professional photographers, I retain the copyright, which simply means the images can't be sold or used commercially without a separate license. For your personal use, you never need to ask me.

Can I give a session as a gift?

Yes — gift certificates are available for any of my sessions. Send me a message and I'll set it up for you.
